Water Colours

I rarely work in water colour these days.  The main focus of my work is now oils.  The polar bears are gouache.

CHILL BABY
I consider this to be one of my finest watercolours to date. This is a delightful scene which belies the problems brewing for polar bears from the environment, however caused. This original gouache is to be published this year by the Haddon Galler...
Lion cubs
Theses are two cubs from one of my trips to Botswana. From a pride with at least 13 cubs and probably a very tired mother!
Snow Leopard
One of the rarest and most beautiful of all wild cats.
Cheetah Okavango Delta, Botswana
I was lucky enough to see many cheetah in the Delta. This is one of a pair of males known as the steroid boys due to their ability to bring down much larger prey than most cheetahs .
Elephant Lake kariba
On one of several visits to Lake Kariba, I saw many elephants drinking at the lakeside in the afternoons. All viewed from a boat. They are a very distinctive red/brown colour which they get from the mud in Matusadonna Park. Thank you.
Buffalo Mana Pools, Zimbabwe
One of the many buffalo I got very close to on a visit to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe. They are as exciting as elephants for me from an art point of view.
Botswana Elephants
These eles are from Botswana. The Okavango Delta is one of the best wildlife areas I have ever been to.
